Pintrest is my how to bible, I love Pintrest so much. When I found this awesome bread I gave it a shot to see if it was a go. It was!! It was a BIG go! Here is the original post Fork & Beans I have made a little spin on it and it has been the yummiest homemade bread out there.
At first I used to follow the recipe to the letter but then I made my own little twists being that I seldom had everything that I needed. I’d switch a flour here and switch that there and wala it was so delicious.
My review on this recipe is that it is the best homemade vegan gluten free bread I have tried. Of course this might have been the first one but it was my favorite. One thing I love about gluten free baking is the availability of switching flours. I’ll share with you the one I used that seemed to work good.
Isn’t it pretty? The key I found out was to not mess with it once it was in the loaf pan. It didn’t sink and let it cook the entire amount of time. And it’s perfect!!
Here is my twist to this recipe:
*V *GF Awesome Bread
- 2 1/4 tsp. dry active yeast
- 1 cup warm plant based milk
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 1 cup warm water
- 5 Tbsp. ground chia seed
- 3 Tbsp. oil
- 2 tsp. apple cider vinegar
- 1 cup oat flour
- 1 cup sweet sorghum flour
- 1/2 cup arrowroot powder
- 1/2 cup tapioca starch
- 1/4 cup buckwheat flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
Wisk together yeast, sugar and milk until frothy let it sit for about 10 minutes. Meanwhile mix all dry ingredients together in separate bowl. Make sure to put ALL ingredients in and don’t forget any. Trust me it doesn’t do as good without baking powder or if you mix up washing soda for baking soda. Yeah not so good!! Ok back to the recipe…
Add the rest of the wet ingredients to the yeast mixture wix all together. Then add the dry ingredients and mix together with a wooden spoon do not over mix. I use a ceramic bread pan and it seemed to not fall but any pan will work. Pour it in and let it rise for about 45 minutes. Don’t touch it leave it alone as it rises. Place it on the stove top as your oven is heating up. It needs to heat up to 350 degrees after it doubles in size bake it for 60 minutes. Let it cool maybe dab on a little p.ant based butter as found on Vegan Switcheroos page!
If you try something different let me know or any questions you may have I would love to hear from you.
